PREM 2023 header.png

This is your chance to tell your kidney unit about your experience of the care you are receiving. This feedback is vital in influencing how the units, in our case the Sussex Kidney Unit, provides kidney care.

This year, the PREM is online only and runs for an extended period from 11th September to 6th November. Staff at the SKU will be supporting dialysis patients in completing the survey.

This is your opportunity to share anonymously your praise and concerns about the treatment you are receiving. The survey is being run by Kidney Care UK and currently the link to the survey is not available. For more details go to:

NKF 2023 Patients Event.png

Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd September

Radisson Blu Hotel, East Midlands Airport

The weekend begins on Friday with an informal buffet supper, get together and a quiz. The main event takes place on the Saturday with various speakers covering the following subjects; physical activities for people living with kidney disease; polycystic kidney disease (PKD); chronic kidney disease (CKD) and diabetes; benefits and regional kidney networks.  During the breaks, you will be able to visit the exhibition hall and see our industry partners displaying their products.

On the Saturday evening, you can socialise with old and new friends at the evening dinner. This year, there will be a table magician joining us to wow us with his amazing tricks. After dinner, come join us on the dance floor with music until midnight.

For full details of the event, go to NKF Annual Patients Event 2023

The subsidised cost for attending Saturday's events plus Saturday night bad and breakfast is an amazing £130. SEKPA is willing to fund the costs for up to 3 people from the SEKPA Renal Units to attend.

World Kidney Day was on Thursday 9th March 2023. Although finished for this year, the aims of World Kidney Day remain as important as ever.

2 - 3% of our Annual Health Care budget

is spent on kidney dialysis and transplantation!

To prevent this number increasing, there is

a need to make people aware of their kidneys

and to actively seek out what kidney health measures they can personally take.
